Workshop Overview: In this six-session workshop series, facilitated by art therapist Lacy Mucklow, participants will be invited to take part in an art therapy wellness group for patients with cancer. Each session, participants will be guided to consider a theme designed to explore feelings, increase self-expression, foster hope and strengths, identify coping skills, expand self-discovery, and engage in mindfulness and grounding.
Week-by-Week Overview: Each workshop will be structured as follows: Check-in, sharing of theme, art-making, and discussion. This patient group is focused on creating SoulCollage® cards as the theme throughout the workshops. Each week, a different aspect of the SoulCollage® process will be presented for the participants to have a better understanding of how they can use SoulCollage® for personal growth and self-discovery.
Week 1: Introduction to SoulCollage®
Media: SoulCollage® cards, scissors, glue stick, magazines
Open group with a check-in and introduce the concept behind the SoulCollage® process. Discuss the Source, SoulEssence, and Witness cards (Transpersonal Dimension) and make space to work on the first SoulCollage® card. Close group with sharing cards and/or the process and learning about the SoulCollage® method.
Week 2: The Council Suit (Archetypal Dimension)
Media: SoulCollage® cards, scissors, glue stick, magazines
Open group with a check-in and continue discussing the SoulCollage® process. Share the concept of the suits in SoulCollage® and how one usually does not know what suit their card(s) will fall into until after making and processing them. Discuss the Council Suit and what kind of cards would constitute being categorized in this suit. Make space to continue finding images and working on their card(s). Close group with sharing cards and/or the process and learning about the SoulCollage® method.
Week 3: The Committee Suit (Psychological Dimension)

Share the concept of the suits in SoulCollage® and how one usually does not know what suit their card(s) will fall into until after making and processing them. Discuss the Committee Suit and what kind of cards would constitute being categorized in this suit. Make space to continue finding images and working on their card(s). Week 4: The Community Suit (Social Dimension)

Week 6: "I am one who..." — Processing Your SoulCollage® Cards

Open group with a check-in and continue discussing the SoulCollage® process. Discuss the concept of processing their SoulCollage® cards through journaling with the "I am one who..." question, along with others to discover what their card represents to them and what suit it belongs to. Make space to continue finding images and working on their card(s) and start processing one card. Close group with sharing cards and/or the process and learning about the SoulCollage® method.
