Help brighten the day of adults affected by cancer by designing uplifting handmade stickers for Kits to Heart's free cancer care kits. These small works of art decorate journals, cards, gift packaging, and other care kit items while reminding recipients that they are loved, supported, and not alone.

Project Guidelines

Create original stickers featuring encouraging messages and cheerful artwork. You're welcome to use:

Traditional hand-drawn artwork
Digital artwork printed on high-quality sticker paper

Stickers should:

Be at least 0.5 inches wide
Be neatly hand-cut
Be printed on or made from adhesive sticker paper
Feature positive, thoughtful artwork and messages

We encourage volunteers to prioritize quality over quantity. Thoughtful, well-crafted designs have the greatest impact.

Service Hour Requirements

Hand-Drawn Stickers

If your stickers are hand-drawn, you may repeat your own original designs.

Digital Stickers

If you create stickers digitally for service hours, each design must be original. Repeated digital designs are not eligible for additional service hour credit.

Simple vs. Complex Stickers

We trust your judgment when classifying your work. As a general guideline:

Simple stickers typically take about 10 minutes to design and cut (for example, a smiley face with a short encouraging message).
Complex stickers typically take about 20 minutes and include more detailed artwork, lettering, coloring, or intricate shapes.

Alternative Option

Creative designs made on pre-cut sticker labels may be eligible for 1 verified service hour for every 10 completed designs.

Recommended Materials

Supplies will differ depending on the method of sticker-making. We are no longer accepting stickers made using wax paper or parchment paper, as they are difficult for recipients to peel and use. Please also refer to tutorials below.

For paper designs: Markers, colored pencils (please do not use only regular pencils for text), and any other art supplies you may have on hand, including a pair of scissors
