About the Sessions
Free and open to anyone in the Kits to Heart community, these drop-in sessions are guided by Liz Ahmann, a registered nurse, cancer survivor, and health/wellness coach who is a multimedia artist, photographer, and trained SoulCollage® facilitator.
In these monthly drop-in gatherings, the facilitator will share one or more poems selected for their healing themes. Participants will be invited to respond in any or all of the following ways: noticing words or phrases that particularly speak to them, journaling or even writing their own poem if inclined, creating art, and /or making a card or cards inspired by the poem that can be sent to Kits to Heart for inclusion in their care packages. At the end of each session, there will be time for everyone who wishes to share their creations with the group.
If participants choose to make cards, the cards can be mailed to Kits to Heart (see mailing instructions here) after each session or upon the conclusion of the series to be included in our cancer care kits for cancer patients and caregivers.
