Help keep patients warm with thoughtfully made crochet and knit hats! These are especially important during trips to the hospital and to shield from colder weather. Bucket hats for the warmer months are also welcome!
Materials
- Thick, bulky yarn (about 120 yards), or worsted weight yarn
- Crochet hook or knitting needles
- Scissors
Priorities
- Unisex hats with a circumference between 21 and 23 inches (average adult sizes, though various sizes are accepted)
- Hats following guidelines adopted from Knots of Love:
- "Thin, seamless, non-lumpy beanies are best for increased comfort.
- Please, no see-through beanies. (Patients don’t like to see their bald heads through the beanies).
- Yarn must be fragrance-free, smoke-free, dander and pet hair-free.
- Be sure all your ends are tied in well and not showing.
- Wash, dry, and bag your creations before sending them to us. One bag or box is sufficient for all your gifts of love. (When drying, please do not use dryer sheets as they contain chemicals that can cause a reaction to sensitive skin)."
- No Chenille Yarn of Metallic Thread/Yarn
